Elements to Consider for Interactive Learning

Before you begin designing or choosing a DEI learning strategy, evaluate the relevant policies and procedures already in place, and look for improvement opportunities. Follow this framework:

    • Identify the resources dedicated to DEI. Look for gaps in representation, compensation, retention, and promotion. Once you understand your company’s DEI weaknesses, look at reallocating resources to address those gaps.
    • Focus on SMART goals. SMART goals are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time bound. Without them, new DEI measures can quickly evaporate into a vague collection of good intentions.
    • Create an all-in atmosphere around DEI. Don’t limit new initiatives to leadership and HR personnel. Use your DEI learning program to give every employee the chance to create intentional habits for inclusivity.
    • Acknowledge differences in experience. Everyone has an experience, but not all experiences are the same. Create a work environment in which differences are acknowledged, considered, and celebrated. Build a common vocabulary of concepts and expectations.
    • Be transparent. Employees are invested in the changes they’re asked to make. They need to see measurable progress. Be intentional and vocal in support of positive change.

    Looking to the Future

Passive learning is a thing of the past. Effective learning and development initiatives are hands-on, experiential, and interactive — and interactive learning is here to stay.

Interactive learning allows instructors to invite trainee participation in the online learning experience. Online content can include micromodules designed to fit into the busiest day, video content to educate and entertain, and social and training group interaction via discussion boards.

Interactive learning is holistic and adaptable to all learning styles. Interactive learners are more likely to retain information, apply it skillfully, build on their new skills, and feel empowered, engaged, and invested — all, incidentally, qualities valued in employees. Elements to Consider for Interactive Learning

Can you incorporate interactive learning into your company’s learning and development strategy? Even if your business requires a certain amount of memorization and testing, there is always room to add interactive learning elements to your training processes.

    • Virtual group discussion forums allow employees and trainees to share and brainstorm ideas, concerns, suggestions, and solutions freely among their cohorts.
    • Gamification, friendly competition and teamwork also build camaraderie among employees.
    • Business simulation programs guide employees through training scenarios to practice decision-making and problem-solving.
    • Virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and curated, cloud-based content offer even more learning opportunities.

Do You Need a LMS or LXP?

Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Experience Platforms (LXP) are both used to deliver training and development content to employees. The difference between the two lies in who controls the content. An LMS, the more traditional learning platform, is administered by HR, learning and development, or team leadership. The assigned administrator controls all content, including any input from users. The LMS learning journey is designed by the administrator and incorporates gated milestones for tracking and reporting data. LMSs are useful for mandatory training, certifications, and documenting compliance, and in use cases where learners compete, such as supply chain or reseller partners, a more formal LMS is the best solution.

    An LXP is a user-centric learning platform. It typically contains required internal training — similar to an LMS — but also incorporates external resources, user-generated content, and social features that center around the learner’s experience. While interactive features increase engagement, creativity, collaboration, and sharing of resources, personalization features allow users to discover content related to their skills and areas of interest. [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeIn”][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/6″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”full_width_background” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” bg_color=”#ffffff” scene_position=”center” top_padding=”20″ bottom_padding=”50″ text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none” shape_type=””][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” top_margin=”20″ background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][image_with_animation image_url=”23673″ animation=”Fade In” hover_animation=”none” alignment=”center” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”medium_depth” image_loading=”default” max_width=”100%” max_width_mobile=”default” margin_bottom=”15″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”full_width_background” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” bg_color=”#f9f9f9″ scene_position=”center” top_padding=”60″ text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” id=”usingAn” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none” shape_type=””][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_row_inner column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” text_align=”left”][vc_column_inner column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/6″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”2/3″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeIn”]

Elements to Consider for Learning Solutions

Whether you need a formal LMS, or the social and communications tools of an LXP, consider these elements when choosing your solution:

    • Social Interaction: Does the solution allow for interaction among users, input, and shared content? Evaluate if your learners need these features. A more formal LMS might be needed because your learners compete — for example reseller partners or supply chains.
    • Customizable Features: Can the platform be aligned with the needs of your organization even as you grow and change?
    • Content Building: Can you easily build, revamp, and scale content according to your ongoing organizational needs?
    • Support: Is assistance available to you when you need it — from implementation to day-to-day management of the platform?
    • Reporting: Can reporting be automated easily and comprehensively?

Wisetail’s President, Ali Knapp & Learning Cluster Design’s CEO, Crystal Kadakia Answer the Top Training Questions

Wisetail sat down with our fearless leader, Ali Knapp and Crystal Kadakia, founder of Learning Cluster Design to discuss trends being seen in the learning and development (L&D) and learning experience design industries as learners evolve.

Ali is originally from Michigan where she earned a degree in Packaging Engineering at Michigan State. She began her career at Bausch & Lomb and held several positions at Hewlett Packard where she managed HP’s OEM division and coordinated projects for Fortune 500 clients, such as e-Health, Siemens, and Philips Ladies. That path landed her with Wisetail where she sits as our President today.

Ali is joined by Crystal Kadkia. Crystal is a two-time TEDx speaker, CLO Best Learning In Practice award recipient, best-selling author of Designing for Modern Learning: Beyond ADDIE and SAM (ATD Publishing, 2020) and The Millennial Myth (Berrett-Koehler, 2017), and an OD consultant. She is the co-creator of the Owens-Kadakia Learning Cluster Design Model, a new model for designing learning that shows those designing learning how to move from one and done, one size fits all programs to the modern way of learning: “Learning Clusters” that surround learners with meaningful Learning Assets. Clients like Atlassian, Pepsi, General Mills, and the World Bank work with the LCD Group to grow their skills in the model and work with LCD Group’s consultants to solve modern learning challenges. Crystal has a bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering and a master’s in Organization Development.

Q: Ali, a big part of modern learning is tying learning to learner context. How do your clients organize content and make it feel “for me” for learners?

Ali answered: “As a society, we’re moving quickly and our learning methods need to keep up with that. Those times when you put out a piece of training content and you update it in two to three years are no longer efficient nor relevant anymore. Our clients have some of the most meaningful content from crowdsourcing. They have content sourced directly from their learners and from their community that resonates with their audience.”

    [/vc_column_text][nectar_single_testimonial testimonial_style=”basic” quote=”We have clients that have created short videos with phones and then directly uploaded them. Those videos are getting more views than anything else on the platform because people see them as authentic content coming directly from the field. When people post training content that they’ve read from different sources or pulled in from third parties, it can really enrich that overall learning experience as well.”][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/6″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”full_width_background” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” bg_color=”#f9f9f9″ scene_position=”center” top_padding=”35″ text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” id=”reskillingThe” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none” shape_type=””][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/6″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column_inner column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/6″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”2/3″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeIn” css=”.vc_custom_1637254447078{padding-bottom: 30px !important;}”]

Q: Crystal, how does the LCD model help change on-the-job behavior?

Crystal elaborated: “In traditional L&D and most other learning design models, we focus on our learning goals and terminal objectives for the end of the class or course. What will the learner be able to do by the end of this video? By default, right from the start, we inherently limit our results. The moment you determine your goal is when you begin to shape the path to the solution and its related results.”

[/vc_column_text][nectar_single_testimonial testimonial_style=”basic” quote=”The Learning Cluster Design (LCD) model takes a significant leap towards having a much greater impact by setting a new goal: to change on-the-job behavior. Not only is our goal different, but so is our process to meet that goal. We don’t rely on a single class or course to change on-the-job behavior. The LCD model’s default is to design more than one learning asset to change performance where it counts, back on the job. Q: Ali, what skills and beliefs do your most successful, modern L&D clients hold?

Ali answered: “Our clients are constantly seeking improvement and are never completely satisfied with themselves. They are seeking to challenge themselves, and, most importantly, they do not follow trends. They do not look at the latest learning and development trends but rather at trends in technology and in growing industries for innovation. Our most successful clients see how they can use those trends to learn and apply them to their people-focused learning strategy. They are investing in technology and have lost the mentality of delivering a class. They are delivering an overall learning experience and gaining ROI on their strategies.”

When to Go All-in on Branded Learner Experiences

Welcome to the final post in our three-part series exploring why LX,  or “Learning Experience,” is critical to creating a thriving company community. In part three, we examine the impact of custom content and provide thoughts on when to go all-in on these high-impact, branded learner experiences.

In part one, we looked at LX in a literal sense through the importance of branding in site design. In part two, we zoomed out to consider LX as a result of site admin prioritization on the breadth and types of content filling their learning libraries.

Custom content can create an immersive, branded learner experience. The learner will get this from the content itself, but the effect extends to the organization it originates from. Referring back to: “Part 1: Design your learning experiences to foster community,” we understand that organizations wishing to create a strong community need to put their brand front and center. In the world of training and employee learning, this can be done via both site and content design. The use of brand colors, fonts, and logos throughout the site are very important — but you can go further! [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeIn”]

    Reaching the Learner Through Experience

Consider the two experiences of a learner watching a position-based onboarding video:

In the first video, there are real actors, but the scene is generic. Uniforms are a non-specific color, equipment and location layout is generally applicable.

In the second video, the smiling real actors are clearly at one of your locations, wearing your uniform, demonstrating actions in your business. Could they even be current trainers?

Which scenario leaves your learners feeling welcomed and invested in your brand?

Do you think one versus the other engages the learner more?

Which one gets them excited about their new job?

    If you know the answer to those questions, it may be time to consider when and where it’s worth going all-in on custom learner experiences.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/6″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”full_width_background” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” bg_color=”#ffffff” scene_position=”center” top_padding=”20″ bottom_padding=”50″ text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none” shape_type=””][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” top_margin=”20″ background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][image_with_animation image_url=”21764″ animation=”Fade In” hover_animation=”none” alignment=”center” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”medium_depth” image_loading=”default” max_width=”100%” max_width_mobile=”default” margin_bottom=”15″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”full_width_background” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” bg_color=”#f9f9f9″ scene_position=”center” top_padding=”60″ text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” id=”usingAn” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none” shape_type=””][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_row_inner column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” text_align=”left”][vc_column_inner column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/6″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”2/3″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeIn”]

The Impact: Feeling a Part of Something Authentic

It’s impossible to have missed the conversation about the importance of being represented and how that impacts our sense of belonging. This has an effect on our personal and private lives — and this conversation is not just for Hollywood, our news media, or big advertisers — it needs to be considered at the corporate level as well. Today, people want to work for socially responsible organizations. Companies need to invest in their people, create a community, and ensure a sense of belonging that their employees can bring their “whole selves” to work. This is a safe space that they can feel a part of — and it needs to be well thought out and authentic.

We’ve explored ways to create immersive learning experiences from branding and content perspectives. If you want employees to feel connected, like a team — and to rally around your vision and mission — then it’s worth strategically investing in ways to immerse them in learning.

A branded learning community filled with a broad range of content will capture learners from their first day, and give them a reason to come back for more. You’ll be able to develop a community around a culture of learning and growth, and retain top talent that feels supported and able to develop themselves.

The final step is tactical investment in custom content. When you realize it’s time to go the extra mile, pause to consider: What are the critical touch points where you want learners to leave feeling brand pride and part of something authentic? How will this impact our goals and overall success? These key moments will be the highest impact for your dollars spent. What Are My Options?

If you have a creative team with video, interactive, learning experience design skills, and knowledge of your branding and training goals, you’re in luck. Have fun! Most of us don’t. That doesn’t mean you can’t find a third-party team to help you.

We suggest finding a partner with deep training content skills — and this is more than video work. It has to do with understanding how to create a range of media types that together impart knowledge and train on the topic at hand. Do they know how to break down complex processes? Can they succinctly convey the most important steps and understand where to drop in a knowledge check? If you’re searching, Wisetail’s LXD team is one to emulate, if we do say so ourselves. For decades this team has been building training that works hard; highly immersive, interactive, fully-branded material for hyper-brand conscious organizations.

Make sure you find a collaborative process with information sharing and review rounds built-in. Ultimately, you should have control over the content and final deliverables so that it meets the specific business objectives of your organization. An experienced team will take your knowledge and turn it into content that delivers on your training goals. Adding Up to an Exceptional Experience

Companies that opt to create in-house training may discover that it’s not as cost-effective or convenient as they thought. A lot depends on the team you have in place versus how much hiring and contracting you need to do. You may suddenly find yourself contracting designers, searching subject matter experts (SMEs), and purchasing authoring tools.

Either way, custom content is an investment. You’ll want to make sure you’re getting the most bang for your buck and can justify the expense. eLearning Industry posted a helpful article on how to measure and analyze the ROI of custom eLearning. It’s worth reading, and as you’ll see, learner experience is a key element.  We also have a few considerations to use in your assessment:

    • Learner Experience (LX) = engagement = retention. Assess inflection points in your employee growth trajectories. Are there win/lose points where custom branded content could make all the difference in an employee’s experience.
    • Invest in evergreen content (meaning content that rarely changes and can be used over and over for a long period of time). We mentioned first touch onboarding content, or even key position training earlier. You might consider aligning custom content work with other process and equipment purchasing cycles. If you have new equipment and workflows connected to it, it may be time to invest in updating the related training material.
    • Consider the training that has a direct or dotted line to your end customers. Prioritizing content for teams that work with your customers could be a dollar-for-dollar investment when they, in turn, deliver exceptional customer experiences and create lifelong brand super fans!
    • Are you going through a merger or acquisition? If big changes are afoot, it can be easy for people to feel lost or disassociated. It may be time to invest in content that brings the new or joined brands to life, and shows the business remains invested in its people.

Learning Created to Save Time, Effort & Money

In this three-part series we are exploring why LX, “Learning Experience,” is critical to creating a thriving company community. If you missed our first post, Part 1: Design your learning experiences to foster community, you may want to rewind and start there!

We know that exceptional LX is created and maintained by our client admins. This means our impact awareness must incorporate the experience of the people who turn the levers behind the scenes. That’s where our concern for time, effort, and money savings comes in. Savings in these areas usually creates a pleasing experience, but equally, figuring out how to prioritize each element will generate better overall L&D outcomes. You’ll end up with a more comprehensive library, without breaking the bank.

    No matter where you are on your learning journey, we’ll bet that content creation is on your list. You may be starting from scratch, digitizing binders and paper documents, or updating outdated material. Whatever it may be, it’s fairly consuming work that you probably want to figure out how to prioritize your time, effort, and money in relation to.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/6″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”full_width_background” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” bg_color=”#ffffff” scene_position=”center” top_padding=”20″ bottom_padding=”50″ text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none” shape_type=””][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” top_margin=”20″ background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][image_with_animation image_url=”21765″ animation=”Fade In” hover_animation=”none” alignment=”center” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”medium_depth” image_loading=”default” max_width=”100%” max_width_mobile=”default” margin_bottom=”15″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”full_width_background” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” bg_color=”#f9f9f9″ scene_position=”center” top_padding=”60″ text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” id=”usingAn” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none” shape_type=””][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_row_inner column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” text_align=”left”][vc_column_inner column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/6″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”2/3″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeIn”]

    Quality Time

The rate of change today is no joke. It can be time consuming ensuring employees have the latest information. Most of us are comfortable purchasing training that checks-the-box on compliance and government mandated materials — but let’s be real — it’s not the most compelling content. We all know some training content “is what it is” because of compliance, so what about all the rest? Determining what should be a part of your well-rounded L&D, skills, leadership, and wellbeing libraries (to name but a few) is just the start. You’ll need to figure out what constitutes your modern, media rich, and engaging content. You will also need to coordinate across departments, manage budgets, and keep everyone to deadline.

Woah, there! What about prioritizing all that time and energy on critical business and core brand content – the stuff that can only be created in-house and that really needs your knowledge. And for the rest, let’s consider other options!

‘Grab & Go,’ or ‘Off the Shelf,’ courses could be just the ticket. Grab & Go courses like the ones created by Wisetail’s LXD team, are curated by subject matter experts (SMEs) in each represented topic. This means that the SMEs do all the research, course creation, select engaging media options, add appropriate testing for knowledge retention, build the SCORM — and, they ensure that industry standards are the baseline. Yes, just the baseline. What does this mean for you? Time saved that you can use to instead focus on the content for which you are the SME.

All that sounds awfully convenient. Let’s make sure you know how to navigate the options. Spend Wisely

Price implications should be considered for your use case. Courses are usually sold in more than one way; by user, location, or views. If the content is part of learners’ growth paths, they may want to view it over and over. In which case, you may want to consider location or user pricing.

Price may indicate the level of interaction or sophistication. Think about what will help your audience engage and learn, and choose based on that. There may still be times for fully text-based content, but more often than not, you should look for highly interactive courses that use a mixed-media and testing approach. Price tags may vary across vendors for interactivity and media types.

You may be able to find vendors that can incorporate your brand and logo into some aspects of their Grab & Go content. Generally this will bump up the price. However, it will still land under that of fully branded, customized material created specifically for your brand, whilst offering just the right amount of personalization.

    Finally, our suggestion is to find a vendor that’s happy to provide you demos. If you’re able to see robust examples of the content or work through a sample yourself, you’ll have confidence that what you’re buying will suit your training needs.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/6″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”full_width_background” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” bg_color=”#f9f9f9″ scene_position=”center” top_padding=”40″ text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” id=”reskillingThe” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none” shape_type=””][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_row_inner column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” text_align=”left”][vc_column_inner column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/6″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” bottom_margin=”30px” centered_text=”true” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”2/3″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeIn” css=”.vc_custom_1634168381409{padding-bottom: 30px !important;}”]
